Fuel Pre-Pumps, 700 in 200? 200 1989

Due to an increase in external fuel pump noise, I check the pre-pump in my 245 this weekend and discoved it was dead. I have been planning to replace the pre-pump in my 740 this winter and had a pump on hand. It was identical to the dead 245 pump, only diffence was it was an aftermarket one. Knowing the external pumps are the same on 200's and 700's, I took a chance and put the 740 pre-pump in the 200. If fit fine and works fine, but I have now discoved the pre-pumps are not the same. What is different about them? I would think flow rates would be the same and it fit in the mount fine. Should I replace it with the correct one, I don't want to do TWA flight 700 in my 240. Thanks.

Aaron
