Re: Help with a 245Ti! 200 1984

Hello RR

To mount the idle motor, if you are following Stu instructions, you will need the bracket that is used to mount it on your original manifold plus the mounting plate for the same idle motor and bracket off an earlier 240 with LH injection (non-turbo) a believe '81 or '82 240's. It's best to mount the idle motor/bracket/plate and hoses before you install the manifold. Make sure that the arrow on the idle motor points towards the engine, the idles motor circulates air around the throttle plate when this is closed. As far as the vaccum connections, label them and take note of the size of the hose. There are some that are obviuos. Be careful when bending the fuel injection lines, specially the one that connects to the cold injector. If you don't like that the cold inj. ends under the manifold, you can have the manifold machined to accomodate the injector above the vaccum ports, there is a space right for it. The problem that I had with hi-idle was caused by not adjusting the throttle linkage (duh!). As far as the benefits of the swap, there are quite a few fellas that say that is good, I have not been that lucky since my car has a partially blocked catalityc conv. that is keeping me from experience the full benefits of this mod. Good luck with your car.
