Re: ring gear 200 1982

I ASSUME they mean ring gear in the REAR END/Differential???

Why the heck replace the ring gear? Replacing the whole rear end is very doable on the 240 in your driveway. Heavy but simple.

The typical failure is the pinion bearing(s). But as a whole, unless run dry or some fool messes with pinion preset they will last a long time. And you wouldn't just toss in a ring gear after one "failed"....

A 240 turbo is a sad thing to waste if that's the only problem. $500CDN is like .26$US (just kidding)- but that is cheap and maybe with a few bucks you'd have a GREAT car.
