86 760 parts usable on my 90 740 700 90

I have an 86 760 diesel with a bad engine. I have speculated on finding another engine either gas or diesel and putting back on the road. I recently purchased a 90 740 GL. Does any one know which if any of the parts (such as, transmission, drive shaft, etc) from my 86 760 diesel will work on the 90 740?

How difficult is it to put a volvo gas engine into the 760 and what should I expect to pay for a good used engine? I am familiar with the V8 conversions but hesitate due to the conversion kit cost. Any info or suggestions appreciated.
