sunroof motor on '89 760t wagon problems 700 1989

alright, so not too long ago, my sunroof cut out of me. all i would hear is a click when i hit the up/down position of the switch. the clicking is from something moving up and down in the motor assembly. i opened up the motor assembly, and there are two parts. the actual motor/gears, and a wiring part with a little electrical piece that moves up/down, and a little blue and black box entitled with part# sp 4144, and has 2 buttons). anyways, i cleaned up the contacts in everything i could dissasemble, and put it back together. in the electrical part, there are 3 little switches(two on that blue/black box) that are pressed/depressed by bumps on this one set of gears. the only way the motor will turn on is if i have the top and bottom one (both from the blue/black box). otherwise, nothing works?

i doubted that i assembled everything properly, and reversed some wires, but still the same. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
