Your caution on 20W-50 is correct. ALL Any

Even with great synthetic 20W-50 I would not use it in the winter, that is for sure, except maybe somewhere it doesn't go below 40°F, for example. I certainly would not go longer than 10,000 miles also. I plan on changing in September if less than 10K by then.

The car really doesn't need it, and I don't even really recommend it, but the Series 2000 20W-50 is GREAT oil. I'll tell you guys the mileage, etc....sure did quiet the engine too.
