car dies in drive thrus. 700 88

I just installed a new motor in my 740 and I am tring to work out some bugs. The car idles at about 900 rpms but when I make quick stops it drops drasticly. Like every stop light or drivethru. I also stall when putting in in reverse. Got any ideas where to start looking? Should I bump up the idle?
