Re: Front Speaker Replacement 700 1990

Make a note of the magnet diameter on the OEM speakers. Some aftermarket coaxial speaker magnets are too wide to fit in the round hole provided in the door. Boston Acoustics fit in my 940 (though I can't confirm that the doors are identical).

If you do end up removing the door panels to retrieve loose rivet washers, take the time to install some dynamat insulation on the back of the door panel fiberboard. And be very patient taking off and reinstalling the panels - it's not something to rush.

Don't forget to spend your hard-earned money on new rear speakers, while you're at it!
