my 89 240 seems to need a clutch! its at a high release point and almost no toe play. still not slipping under load however, i have occasional reverse bash indicating its not rleasing fully,. my concern is that i have trouble engaging 1st gear sometimes and other times it goes right in. i have found my self at a red light in N having to use a lot of force to get in to gear. i was told not to ever do this as a shift fork can be bent broke?? im willing to put a new clutch in but am worried that the transmisson is perhaps at fault? would the worn clutch cause the difficult 1st gear engaging?? thanks scott

also i garage told me $550.00 for the clutch job is tha tabout right??
