Any experiences with 17" tires? 700 1988

Im planning on adding 17" wheels to my car due to how incredible it looks. Ive heard this could damage my front end and also ive heard it will improve my ride. I would like to hear from some experiences. Ive already ordered the wheels anyway and this will maybe means i will have to be more careful with my wagon. Any opinions welcome!
