oddness makes distress 200 85

hello, fellows... it has been a long time since I have made a post

to our lovely little mailing list.

needless to say, I am here because something strange has been

happening for the last few days...

it all began the other night as I was on my way home...

I noticed that the fuel gauge as dropping rather quickly,

and once I turned off the stereo, I reallized that the machine

was pinging and guzzling to say the least...

when I game to a stop I found that the car was ilding at around

2krpm (normal is 1k). after a few more minutes of driving the problem

seemed to go away... but now, everytime I start the vehicle I get to

ilde at 2k for aprox. 4 minutes. (with the extreme fuel consumption as well)

so, what would you guys guess is the cause of this sudden and strange

increase in the richness of my fuel mixture?

would this classify as a symptom of a dying wiring harness?

I would simply like some ideas to have in mind when I dig into the

engine in the morning. thanks in advance.
