Rear Trail Arm Bushing Tool 140-160 86

Well,

Having successfully replaced my front suspension bushings I'm ready to move aft. I've got all the usual symptoms of worn trail arm bushings and have figured out I need "The Tool" (5078/79) for the rear ones. Before you say take it to the shop, I don't have one in my area and I'm afraid of what a small town "Import Auto" mech might try when I know HE won't have "The Tool".

I did find a US made version on the WEB for $165 but I'm hoping there is some other way. I've read threads on the Brickboard by guys who sort of "engineered" their own...I don't know if I'm that good.

Is there a low cost generic available? A Volvo Mother Teresa who rents his out? An ingenious work-around?

John M.
