I was about to change my transmission support on my '85 245 GL, B230F, AW70 with a part I got from ipd. It turns out, the part I got was for a 700/900 w/ B230F and AW70 (p/n CQ1328900), which doesn't fit (my fault). I checked again in the paper catalog and found p/n CQ1359138 "4spd & 5 spd non-overdrive M45, M47, auto trans. (square)(1). I would like to ask anyone who knows-is this the right part for my car? I checked under my car and it does look square, with 1 bolt through it, and hanging on a goldish zinc coated plate with 2 bolts.
Second question-is a bushing removal tool really necessary for replacing the tailshaft bushing and seal? I don not live in the US and cannot benefit from renting a tool from ipd for $40. I would have to buy it at $170 (ouch).
Last question-I bought and installed ipd upper chassis brace and tower-tower bar, no problem. I have the lower chassis brace too, but upon looking at the rear lower 'A' arm mounting bracket, I noticed that aside from the big hole in the center, there was another smaller hole, about 3/16"dia towards the center of the car. Now, knowing that I would have to drill another 3/8" hole on the same bracket, toward the outside of the car, unto which the bolts to hold the brace would attach to, wouldn't so many holes tend to weaken the bracket? Just need reassurance from you guys!
Thanks and so sorry for 3 questions in one post.
