Dome light timing relay, revisited 200 87

Several weeks ago I posted a query about the whereabouts of the timing relay which controls the dome light in my '87 244. I was told to check up above the driver's feet for a cylindrical canister. Bentley shows the location there as well.

On Saturday, I went all through the driver's side of the dash, and the only relay which I found above the feet was a blue rectangular (not cylindrical) relay which had a 'speaker opening' -- I assumed this was the door chime. There was a small cylindrical switch mounted on the brake pedal top (the stop light switch?), and that's it for cylinders. I also checked the inside of the driver's side console, where the turn signal flasher relay lives just to see if it was hiding there as well.

Dome light timer relay -- where are you?
