Need new windshield...any advice?? 900 1995

My wife's 1995 945T took a stone near the bottom of the passenger side A-pillar recently, and yesterday the nick developed into a nice six-inch-and-growing crack. Obviously, I will need a new windshield.

I have never had a windshield replaced, and had a few questions. Should I have the dealer do it, or should I go with a reputable auto glass shop? Are there any particular gotchas to beware of with this particular model? I have the passenger side airbag, and it appears as though the airbag may have to bounce off the inside of the windshield as a part of its deployment. Does this pose any special concerns (i.e. do I need to let adhesive set-up for x number of days before fully cured, etc.)?

Any input is welcome.
