Patience Please, Some Stupid Questions 900 1993

Hi All,

I just looked at a 1993 940 with 27k (documented) miles. It looks like I'm going to buy it, but I have a bunch of questions. Please forgive my ignorance on the subject.

1. The auto trans shift lever doesn't have an OD button on it, nor is there an OD light on the dash, like the 240s I was looking at. Does this mean I have the dreaded ZF transmission?

2. The rear is not the locking type, which I'd really like to have. How hard/expensive is it to get a locking rear and put it in?

3. I'd like to have the fog lights too. Is it difficult to remove the present headlight and replace it with the headlight/fog combo I've seen on other 940s? Do I have to change the grille too? Or would it just be easier to go to the e-code lights instead?

Thanks in advance for any responses. I looked the car over very closely using the info from the FAQ and everything looks super clean. I'm thinking this one could last a lifetime, if I maintain it properly. The (Volvo) dealer has stated that he'll do the 30k service before I pick the car up.
