HELP!!! I SEE SMOKE 200 1988

I was Driving to work this morning and my 240 drove fine no noticeable probs. Well, when i got to my parking deck, I noticed smoke comming from the hood and I smelled "burning" oil in the cabin. I parked, Poped the hood and saw the smoke comming from the back of the engine on the drivers side, righ next to the oil and tranny dips. I also saw smoke comming from under the Passanger cabin but this wasn't as heavy as under the hood. Is thia a major prob in the works or is it a DIY fix?? What do I look for? I checked the dip to make sure it was seated corectly and it was and the smoke was no where near the filler top or on the sides of the engine.
