Purchasing Advise 200

I'm considering a 200 series Volvo as a second car and was hopeing someone could offer some advise as to the most desirable years and models. Realialibility is my foremost concern so I have ruled out a turbocharged model. Having owned 544s years ago and surviving a head on collision because of the integrity of the 240 design, I love Volvos but need advise as to which 200 series model is the best.
