how come no-one told me... 200 '86

that i CAN'T take the intake manifold completely off of the car??? everywhere i look, including bentley, it's just "take it off, already". and yet, the wiring harness passes right between #3 & #4 intake runners. i wonder if this is standard, as it looks like a P.O. or mechanic might have done a 'home job' on the harness. lots of electrical tape?

where the wiring bundle passes thru the firewall to the ECU, there is no connector, just the harness passing thru the firewall. complete removal of the manifold wihout disconnecting everything is an impossibility. i WAS hoping to clean it, then paint it. oh well. now it's just sitting on top of the valve cover... new gasket anyway.
