Buy a new one. They dont last long because of the environment they are in. The little filter you saw with holes in it should be cleaned or replaced everytime you change your oil. I prefer the newer plastic ones because they plug up less. Also follow the little hose to the intake manifold. Unscrew the fitting from the manifold that the little hose attaches to. Use carb cleaner and a small tag wire to clean out the orifice in the fitting. It is probably plugged. If you maintain the flame trap well, you will have fewer engine leaks. As the flame trap plugs up, crankcase pressure rises and causes leaks all over the motor. I had oil coming onto the windshield one day because the flame trap plugged up.
