Running poorly; esp. up hills 200 1988

'88 245 is acting like I got a bad batch of gas. But it didn't start till halfway thru the tank. Tank 3/4 down filled up again and put in dry gas. Still the same. Really bad up hills. Died last night and re-started after 5-10 minutes. Fuel filter changed about 10k ago, also plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The problem is intermittent from so bad that it stalls out to running OK. I was thinking fuel pump but have been advised it is probably ignition coil. I'll try swapping coils (nice to have 4 240's so I can swap out things). If this doesn't work any other ideas? Thanks.
