I quit buying Craftsman sockets about 25 years ago fo that very reason.

Their warrantee is great and they always honour it but every time I had to use a breaker bar on one , it would split.(mabey I should have skipped the Wheaties )

Wound up spending more on gas running back and forth to sears , than it cost to replace with another brand.
