Demolition Derby 200 1990

I have an 84 244 auto that runs but leaks from multiple orifices, is a total rust bucket and is in generally poor shape. I bought it for $100., basically for the alternator, blower motor and nice interior, which I've salvaged. See where this is going?

So, I wouldn't actually be doing the driving (herniated discs), but was considering contribiuting the old gal to the cause - it's for charity...

Do you think Volvo safety engineering and Sweedish steel add up to victory at the fair?

What should I be sure to remove before hand to maximize my part inventory (beyond glass and plastic)? Will there be much left worth using?

How should I modify it to protect the crucial parts?

Am I just crazy?

Keep in mind, there is usually a plethora of impalas, 88's, belevederes, caprices and the like.

Alternatively, I was considering completely disassembling the thing for the experience (and parts).

Thanks!
