differential pinion loose 1800 64

There has been a cluck coming from the rear of my car and its not the u-joints(they are new) and its does'nt seem to be and bushings because rocking the car produces nothing but squeeks. I took of the differential cover and rocked the drive shaft and noticed that one differential pinion would wobble on its shaft. also the spider had some latteral movement. I've never opened one before so I dont know if this is normal. It does'nt seem like it is. Any suggestions?.
