Sunroof Repair 700 1989

Thanks to Steve Ringlee for sending me the FAQ with sunroof details. Finally got around to looking at the problem (not closing level? and no vent position). Needed a few days of no rain in case I got in to deep. Found the headliner section that flips into the vent position with the roof unclipped (duh!!). Looked around a bit for anything loose, reclipped the liner to the roof and ran her back and forth a few times. Seems to at least work better than before. She walks right into the vent position without hesitation and on closing a quick pop of the switch drops the roof and lines things up a bit more than before. I realize I have more work to do but didn't want to test my luck with pulling the motor and roof completely for further (necessary) inspection. Baby steps I guess. A concern when I pulled the motor cover, found a bronze colored nut (1/4"??) sitting in the tray. Can't find where it belongs. Any ideas?? I'm used to having extra parts but I found this before I even started. Need to invest in repair manuals if I'm gonna stick with this DIY Volvo thing. Right now, I'm working blind, given my knowledge of auto mechanics, this is dangerous. Need pictures and step by step instructions. Have a renewed respect for real mechanics and all you guys who DIY. Thanks again to Steve R for his help. Anyone who has an idea on the phantom "nut" please let me know.
