Air Mass Meter 900 1994

The check engine light lit last week and the self diagnostic test indicated faulty signal to/from AMM: 1,2,1. I got advice here to clean positive battery connection, which I tried with same result. Replaced AMM, good price $259 from Nils Sefeldt (local dealer $310), changed plugs, dist cap, rotor, filters and wires from IPD. Today the same fault code returned, and engine running rough. Any ideas guys?
