83 244 GL wiring harness - replacement 200 83

I have the typical detioriated engine wiring harness on my 1983 Volvo GL (244, I suppose it is).

Have any normal people (i.e., not expert mechanics) ever tried to replace the wiring harness themselves?

Does anyone have a supplier, or recommendation on where I can buy a wiring harness for a fair price?

My 1983 Volvo GL has A/C, automatic transmission, cruise control, and electric windows. I suppose this information may make some difference on which model engine wiring harness I would require.

Any recommendations, "other solutions", or otherwise remedies from anyone in the cheap-seats would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to anyone with "any" information on this, that you would like to share with me.
