1972 1800E convertible questions 1800 72 E

Can anyone tell me what to lookout for when looking @ a 1972 1800 E convertible?

How rare are these? Did they come stock like this? [ I'm assuming it was a custom job.]

What are the most common problems associated with them?

Forgive my ignorance, but is it safe to say that it is fairly easy to find parts for the later 1800 E's?

... where would be a good place to start to find restoration parts other

than IPD?

[ I recently came across one that has an automatic rebuilt tranny with 50K on it. It needs an interior, dash, and paint. The top is supposedly off and the framework for the folding top is in place. He also has all the parts that were removed. It is basically a project car that NEEDS to get finished. I'm still waiting on more of the technical details.]

all help is greatly appreciated & thank you for your time.

sincerely
