wanted: electrical wizard 700 1990

Is there anyone out there who has some good knowledge in the elec. workings of these cars? For a while now, I've had the voltage vary on my 90 745T - each engine start usually shows the voltage changing by 1-3 volts on the meter, sometimes going up and down on as I get on and off the highway, sometimes its great. I've replace the voltage regulator in the alternator, both have been checked by a wrench and pass. Any ideas? I asume this is why my car "hunts" sometimes for a good idle. Most of the time it idles enough to have the car vibrate, sometimes its smooth as can be.

Any ideas? Anybody know anybody else? An older Volvo shop guy?

Thanks for your help.

David
