'88 740 GLE w/42K? 700 '88

I have been looking for a 740 GLE wagon to replace my current '86 GLE sedan, which I adore, but I need a wagon. So I found an impeccable 740 GLE wagon at a local dealer that deals primarily in high-end European used cars. It has only 42,000 original miles on it. That is what I am concerned about.

Am I right in being suspicious of a 1988 740 GLE wagon with only 42k original miles? Low mileage is good, but thirteen years with only 42k and a car probably has some engine problems. I would actually be more comfortable with a well-maintained car of that age with 80 - 120 k...am I on the right track here? Thanks.
