242glt stutters w/less than half tank of gas 200 83

Hey guys,

Got the project 242 glt running after three months of work and runs pretty good.However,with less than half of tank of gas,sort of hesitates and seems fuel starved.After fillup all seems fine.

Fuel pump seems to whine a little too loud also.Is it a pre-pump issue?I can get a gas tank assembly from a newer car pretty cheap,and willing to swap.Good idea for an 83?
