Glowing Red Exhaust Manifold and Catalytic Converter 200 1983

Here's a new one for you. Yesterday, I installed an IPD Intercooler for my 1983 244T. I adjusted the wastegate on the turbo as instructed. At Idle, the car is fine. It even runs great. What boost. However, after driving or if I increase the RPMs while sitting still for about a minute, the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter begins to glow bright red. I checked the timing. Right on. The car had been completely tuned last month. The oil is fine. What's happening here? The catalytic converter is one year old.

When I let the car idle, the glow disappears.

Help.

P.S. am I suppose to install an electric fan with the intercooler?
