Re: Help ID'ing this car/motor/fuel injection 200 1981

You have a car that my guess is that the original V6 puked and the

person or shop converted the car to be a 4cyl model. So, they used what

was around. If its a 4 cylinder with electronic injection you are going

to have to get the number off the ECU. It is located in the passenger

footwell under the plastic cover on the right. Get the number off the

silver box. It will be a big help in knowing what you have. Also since this is a conversion, check to see what ignition system you have. Early LH has a

large metal AMM the later cars use an all plastic one. Your engine may

be a B23 since the B21 in the US mostly used K jetronic. Look around on the block there should be B21 or B23 cast into it. Some of the other folks

here know what to look for better than me. If the valve cover is grey

aluminum color its a B23 or B21, if its black it could be a B230. There is a one year only model of B21 that uses LH from 1982 this is called the B21 MPG. Hope this helps you some.
