Re: A/C Juice 200 1990

Jon -

Volvo 240's in 1993 were produced to use the refrigerant R134a. Prior to that year they were made to use refrigerant Freon R-12. Freon is a brand name of the DuPont Company. Changes to R134a require different seals and compressor oil, and sometimes hoses and expansion valves. There is a Volvo kit for the conversion and use thereof results in there being a different fixture on the compressor for adding refrigerant, and the info sticker under the hood that originally referencing R-12 being covered with a new sticker about R134a.

If your car has the different fixture and the sticker it has been converted to R134a. If not you can use either Freon R-12 or Freeze12.

Repost with what you find out and use.

Good Luck,

Bob :>)
