Fuel Damper??? 200 89

I was just floating around both the GAPA and ALL OEM for a bunch of parts. I noticed in with the injection section there is a Fuel Damper. Never heard of it. can someone shed some light on this? I was going to change the fuel regulator because I've checked and played with everything else and I still have a quirky problem that has to be fuel related so I thought I would just replace it. But when I saw this Damper, I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Did they have this part on my year car?
