240 A/C Conversion 200 1983

My A/C has not worked in a very very long time (probably a few years). Prior to that it had a slow leak and would need recharging every year. I am thinking about trying to get it working again. Should I consider converting over to R-134? I had heard that Volvo had conversion kits for this. Since the thing has not run in so long should I consider replacing

more than what comes in a conversion kit? Also, I read something about how an auxilary fan may be needed if I convert to R-134.

Thanks
