Fuel Door Hinge 700 1987

The the plastic POS door hinge broke today sending my gas cap door flying across the service station. Thanks to the 700/900 FAQ data I see this is a common problem and fixable. Without this Board and the information I would probably throw my hands up in disgust and trade the car in for a new one. I just ordered a replacement part. Any suggestions/tips about the replacement process?
