proportion valve ?? 200 1987

My '87 240 has almost 200K on it and it's time for some brake repairs. I took it in for an estimate and the technicians say I have a proportion valve leaking. They say it's rare for it to leak, but this one is. The part cost on this item is $350. and they can only get it from a dealer. I tried to find one on the internet, but the name "proportion valve" never seems to be listed on parts lists. Can anybody tell me where I can find one cheaper or does it go by a different name?? Thanks
