light bulbz 700 1989

why is it that volvo's pop so many light bubls. i have/had a 1982 240 that would pop one every two weeks. i multimetered the whole thing one day and came up with nothing. so now i have this 740 and for the past two weeks it has gone through three bulbs, all different ones, and once again i have gone through it with a multimeter and found nothing. is this commonplace for volvo's, or is this just some more of my bad karma.
