My car will make a good example for this. The taillights have the year stamped on them, and the ones on my car don't match (I think '84 and '92). The left rear quarter panel on my car has some flaking paint around the edges. I just recently noticed that the gas tank has a small dent in it that lines up with the muffler. Luckily I've had no problems with my car resulting from whatever damage that happened to the rear. A few months ago someone hit the left rear of my car, so now I've got a chance to fix the poor respray.
