Intermittent Wiper Not Functioning, Relay? 700 1988

Seems the windshield wipers on my 88 740 won't "delay" in intermittent mode. Also they don't park themselves at the bottom of the windshield after being switched/turned off. I'm assuming the relay is to blame--the switch had already been swapped with no success. The relay is located near the fuses according to the Haynes. Is it necessary to tear apart the whole center console to access the relay? How much is the relay? Does anyone have a functioning spare they want to sell??
