dieseling and backfire 1800 64

when I shut my car off it lets out a backfire after a few seconds and sometimes there is some dieseling. My timing is set at about 20 deg. btdc.@ 2000 rpm. It does'nt seem to be running rich either( sparkplugs are light tan ). All the valve clearances are set at .020". It also has been running hotter lately around 190 deg even when its cold out ( its usualy about 170). water and oil are in good shape. Anyone got any ideas as to what could cause this?
