is this a common problem and how have you been solving it? 300 1989

just replaced the fuel filter, rear diff fluid, and the automatic transmission filter/fluid. now I have a problem. The filer tube wouldn't separate from the pan so I had to take the dipstick off the motor to lower the pan. The dipstick nut loosened fine yet wouldn't turn out completely (about 1/2 way). now everything is back together and running fine except there is a very subtle leak from the dipstick nut and pan. I am afraid to tighten this any more for fear of breaking it. Does this nut require high torque? Also I doubt I will ever have the pan off again during my ownership for I now have the IPD device that allows for replacement of the fluid without taking off the pan. I thought of a extreme measure to just solder the area where the nut meets the tube yet knowing my luck this wouldn't work. Any ideas?
