Re: Problem is resolved. 200 1983

I was riding shotgun on this trip, and it was very interesting.

Driving a 1983 Volvo 245 turbo (non intercooled) 630 miles at 90 miles/hour the whole way.

It had sat for a long time and has 256,000 miles on it.

I was amazed to see it get back to Iowa.

There is an exhaust leak at the manifold which melted two of the plug wires with the heat blowing on them.

What a mess.

But we got back.

It was funny to see that every time he romped on the gas pedal, a big black puff of smoke coming out of the exhaust (gasoline, not oil)

and I was simply amazed how fast the car is.

I was in Shawn's Tbird SC and he kept up with me to about 110 mph (then we both slowed down)

but the highway speed response on that thing appears to be MUCH better than any brick I've driven.

and this is with a rough idle, exhaust leak and missing every once in a while, sending fuel out the muffler :)

what a trip.
