Volvo tranny guy ? - advice needed 700 1986

I'm changing out my ZF tranny (it does go backwards) for a AW71. Volvo wants an arm and a leg for new tranny lines. Any one have a junker with these availible? Or do I have to use straight lines and bend them to fit?

Also, I'd like to change out the center support bearing between the two halves of the rear drive shaft. Again Volvo wants an arm and a leg. I can get a universal center bearing and housing for $50 (includes pressing it on the shaft) but the mounting holes are about an inch wider than the original part. How much tolerance is there in this shaft connection? Do I dare even thinking about drilling new holes in the center bearing mounting plate and not rattling all the way down the street when it's done?
