help! How to discharge an overcharged A/C system 700

I took the '92 740 brick to have A/C checked because it was not cooling. The shop overrided the MCC control and added some freon because "it could be low", but still wasn't working. Ended up that MCC unit was defective and was replaced and A/C working now. I measure the amount of charge in system and gauge shows slight overcharge. How do I ddischarge system slightly to bring sytem up to par. System is 134a Do I simply push valve in low pressure port to let gas escape? Any help greatly appreciated.
