You want to replace it. It is a part of the fuel injection and your car shouldn't be driven w/o it for a long period of time. Erie volvo will have one used but warrantied for a year for under 140 bucks. All oem volvo parts on the web quoted 158 for a rebuilt one and 212 for a brand new one. That was for my 91 740 t, but its about the same as the 240 (I also replaced one on my 88 240gl).
