A/C disconnected 700 1991

I disconnected the power to my a/c because the compressor repair was going to be too expensive and the compressor was clicking on and drawing power (even when the a/c was off - because of the defrost as I discovered). To ask a question related to this - there are two fans, one for my rad and is the other fan ONLY for the a/c rad or does it do anything else? Would disconnecting the a/c power cause this fan not to work and if so, does it matter? I apologize in advance if this is a really stupid question.
