Annoying squeaking driving me nuts? 700 1992

I just bought my first Volvo; a 740 Turbo wagon. There is, coming from what seems to be the pillars behind the rear doors, an annoying but hard to locate squeaking sound. Doesn't happen all the time; just whenever it feels like it. It's not set off by anything in particular (I've run over manhole covers to see if that would trigger it with no sound resulting and I've driven down seemingly smooth streets with it squeaking away). Any suggestions?
