IPD Exhaust Header Clearance and Electrical Work 120-130 1968

I've got a 1968 122S wagon with dual SU carbs and I'm thinking of purchasing an IPD header and I'm hoping someone out here has put one on before. Are there any clearance problems, ie. generator? Also, does the early style intake manifold mate up to the new exhaust header cleanly? I will have to switch from my one peice intake/exhaust header to the IPD and early style manifold/header. Are there any problems with the carb linkages as a result of this change? If you have put one of these headers on before, was there a performance increase? or not noticable? I'm also thinking of switching from a generator + regulator to an alternator. I know it's possible but I don't know what is involved. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me. (bdavies@accglobal.net)Thanks.
